Which direction to go for my 9yo son please!

My son is 9 yrs old and is on the waiting list to be assessed for aspergers. We have been waiting for a year now and did get one appointment with the child well being clinic back in august but i have heard nothing back from them. I have tried calling several times to chase them up but they only work on mondays and nobody has called me back.

We are desperate for help, his behaviour is esculating and becoming dangerous/violent. He was just suspended again, this time because he tried to strangle another child at school.

Please can somebody point us in the right direction for help. We are in the ipswich area.

Go see a private psychologist or private pediatrician or both. Ring lots of different places for the earliest appointment. If your GP writes your child a mental health care plan it will cost a lot less. But it is worth the money and I would beg, borrow, steal it rather than sit on a waiting list. It infuriates me that people are not told there are much much faster ways to get diagnosed!
