Where to host a 1st birthday

Hi everyone,
I wanted to ask for suggestions on what to do for a 1st birthday?
For my first child I spent close to $2000, $500 for hall hire, food alcohol etc etc. But now I think that was a massive waste of money. I had savings then, so didn't think much of it. Now I've been on maternity leave for a while, & have spent it all. So I really want to have a special party for my second child but I can't spend that much. It will be in June so winter. Would love to do it at my place but we don't have a big enough place to host it. Very small apartment. So it has to be somewhere else. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to have it that won't break the bank & it can't be a park as it might rain & it will be too cold to be outside. I'm in the inner west in sydney. So somewhere around there.
