When do I start the contraceptive pill after baby?

Hi IM'S
My bub is 9 months old and I've recently weaned him off the breast. I've not had any return of my period thus far. I want to go back to my contraceptive pill (isabelle) but I don't know what day to start! I have know idea where I'd be in my cycle and I don't want to much up anything. Or does the body just regulate after a couple months of taking it? I've not been taking the progesterone only pill either. After thoughts and anyone that had been in same situation.
( I am seeing my GP but there's a little wait, so thought I'd ask here in the meantime)
Thanks x

I haven't be on the pill in awhile but I think with most contraceptives you need to start once you have your period, so, If you have the pill I would start taking it once you get your period. If your appointment comes before your period clarify with your GP or even call a family planing center they should be able to give you some info over the phone.

The answer will be in the fact sheet that comes with the pill. If after reading that you're still unsure you should wait till you see your GP to start taking it.

I would also rule out/in if you are currently pregnant before starting to take the pill. It does happen.

Yes, definitely ensure you take a test before starting - you can become pregnant while breastfeeding and don't have to have a period to fall!
