I actually would have considerd using it even if she had - middle names aren't so much of a big deal.
Ask her, I dint know why you couldn't both use it anyway. It's a middle name. Lots of people in our family share a middle name, it is extremely common. Don't overthink it.
Use it. My SIL and I both liked the same name, she asked me not to use it because she wanted to use it when she had a baby. I agreed, named my child (youngest and last) something else and when her turn came she decided on a completely different name. Don't think I have ever really forgiven her because I still love the name ?
