I'm a uni student about to have a bit of a break between subjects (I study 3 terms a year with about a month between each break), anyway, my question is, what can I make that might earn a bit of money? I'm a single mum, the youngest being a toddler (the older kids are school aged), due to personal reasons it's not ideal for me to get casual work during this time but am looking to earn a bit of money from making things and selling them. I can only sew at a really basic level, however I can knit and I was going to teach myself to crochet. Any ideas of things I could make would be great. Also ideas on how I can go about selling these things.

eBay and Facebook pages, there are a fair few with knitted baby booties, hats, and blankets (do big people ones to). Basic sewing - daycare/kindy sheets at a reasonable price ($35 a set). Also doilies, no one ever has doilies anymore bring those bad boys back (I like them lol). And teddy bears/dolls/baby rattles that are knitted, they can go for a fair bit and take a while to make but they are so cool.
You should come to my house, lots of doilies hand made lol
My advice find a product that's new and novel. Things like doilies etc although lovely the hours you put into make them, hunting down the specialty materials just don't make them sellable. So look at items that are not label intensive and you can actually get your hands on materials to make them without driving 3hrs :(
Most craft people make a profit not from the items they make but selling their pattern or design or lessons to others. It's really hard to make a profit in craft.
Labour not label
