My baby is nearly 5 months old, she has nearly out grown her bassinet and I want to put the cot in my room, but my mother and a few friends think it's time for her to go into her own room. I'm just wanting to know what a age you moved your baby out of your room

My kids moved into their own room between the ages of 4 to 6 mths basically once they out grew their bassinet. Perhaps to start off with give her day naps in her cot in the room so they get used to it. Then after a week or so I move them in at night I do have a few sleepess nights at the beginning cos Iam forever up checking on them but then once they get used to it and I got used to it we did great. If your worried you not going to hear her cry ect then you could buy a baby monitor but I've never needed one
Age 2 almost 3, as a baby I put the cot in my room and eventually took the side off and sidecarred it to the bed and we all slept fantastically. Do whatever you want and feel, there is no right and wrong, it's your choice completely.
Current SIDS guidelines are having baby sleep in your bedroom up to 6-12 mths. So tell them your following the guidelines
My son slept in his cot in our room until he was 12 months old :)
