Has anyone had any significant weight loss after pregnancy?
I jumped on the scales today and was shocked to see that I have dropped to 47kg. I usually sit around 50kg and during both pregnancies I reached 65kg.
I had 2 babies in 2 years and I haven't had a lot of time to take proper care of myself whilst looking after the 2 and hubby working FIFO.
Hubby is concerned and thinks i should see a doctor but I don't know what they are going to do for me.
I do eat but my appetite isn't there and I feel like I have force myself. I don't even get hunger pains anymore so I have to remind myself to eat a meal but I eat at least 2 times a day.

To increase your appetite you need to eat more - kind of the like the more sleep you get the more tired you'll be. If you're concerned about the weight loss try consciously eating more throughout the day. Put sticky notes around the house or reminders on your phone if you have to. A handful of nuts here or a tub of yogurt there (as examples) would be a good place to start, they don't have to be proper meals.
However keep in mind your weight does fluctuate - hormones, water/hydration, food intake and other things all play a part in the number that shows up on the scales. As long as you feel and look healthy, I wouldn't be too concerned.
But again - if you or your husband is seriously concerned (as you haven't listed any other factors to take into account such as age, height etc), try taking steps to naturally increase your appetite but if things don't pick up in a couple of months it might pay to see your GP just to check everything out and get some more advice :)
Thanks for your advice. I'm
Going to give the post it note idea a go because i need the reminders.
I'm 162cm tall and 30yo.
I've always been thin but my husband and relatives tell me I look thinner than I have ever before.
With that bit of extra info I'd definitely look at trying to increase your food intake to get your hunger levels back up. See how you go but if you start to lose any more weight, you're feeling unwell generally or nothing's changing after a couple of months, go see your GP.
I had a similar thing happen after my 2nd. I think it was just that I was so busy looking after a toddler and a newborn that eating was just not a priority. And the tiredness made me less motivated to eat too. The other weird thing that happened was that every time I started a breastfeed, I got a wave of nausea. It was revolting. Unfortunately when I breastfed it was often the only time I could sit and eat something, so I'd sit down to a meal at last, but not be able to eat it! So annoying. That took several months to wear off. Now my youngest is 3 and my weight is back to normal, actually a couple of kilos over where I want to be so now I've got the opposite problem! I seem to have an unsightly muffin top that is not helped by my now very healthy appetite!! :-/ I like the post it note idea, and maybe try making a point of eating when your toddler eats. Even eat the same stuff he/she eats to make food prep easy!
