Weaning

I need to wean my daughter. She's currently breastfed and I'm returning to work part time. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday whole days. I left her from 10am till 2:30 the other day and towards the end she got real sooky. I've been trying to cut day feeds out And give her cows milk. She drinks the cows milk but once it gets to about 1:30- 2:30 In the afternoon she won't drink the cows milk and cries and won't sleep. nothing works or calms her. I breastfeed her and she is fine. Goes to sleep. I will be gone from 8:20am till 5pm on the days I work. I'm not sure what to do =(
I'm trying so hard I'm happy to keep morning and night feeds. She eats food etc shes 1 but its becoming difficult to get this last afternoon feed taken away =( one stressed out and worried mumma

She drinks from a sippy cup. I tried expressing when she was a baby and it wasnt very successful so i don't think that's an option. She drinks cows milk from morning till when she just cries until she is breastfed.

my daughter is the same and iv begun the weaning process she just turned on, i thought i would be feeding till she was 5! but the last week two weeks i have seen light at the end of the tunnel!
our biggest problem was her sleeping with out boob, she isn't a great eater either so i would worry about that, but when i went back to work on one morning a week my husband cares for her and she is fine with him and will even sleep with him sometimes.
I give her bottles of smoothies. usually berries, banana yogurt and water. that fills her up and i have to keep her occupied in the afternoon to avoid that feed. if i stay home with her and just let her amuse herself she will wing and cry till i feed her. if we are out in a playground for the afternoon or somewhere she can roam wherever she wants she want whine for a feed at all.
my point is if its day car your sending her you might find she is distracted enough to not need it and just give it to her when you pick her up, or who ever is looking after her can take her to a park for the afternoon till your there to pick her up? and give her a bottle of smoothie to drink the whole afternoon to keep her from going hungry.
