Want a friend!

Want a friend!

A little bit about me.. I am in my mid-twenties with a few kids(5+). I believe I am a fairly easy going person, Shy at first, conscious of my weight(trying to loose), love staying home with BBQ's & friends over, however love to see concerts/shows or generally have some 'me' time every now & then because let's face it, I generally am pretty busy & exhausted at times with the kids. In saying this I always try to make effort, ask questions to get to know people but usually get shut down.
I'm not a tight ass with money but I don't waste it basically I like to live a happy life!

My problem is I don't have any friends.. Not one.
I don't know where I'm going wrong or what I'm doing/not doing!
Please help!

This is going to sound odd. After I had a mental breakdown 5 years ago, one of my goals with my psychologist was to improve my social network. My psychologist was able to help me identify where I was going wrong, from trying too hard and helping me read body language so I could identify people who were open to friendships and move on from those who were backing away lol
I know it sounds weird but finding new friends is like going for a job interview, so although you want to be yourself, you want to be your best version of you and that is what the psych helped me achieve.

I have the same problem! The people I thought were my friends ended up not being good friends. So I dont no where to even start lol I'm always polite to school mums and say hi but that's as far as it goes. where are you located? Maybe we could hang out, we have allot in common ? no pressure just putting it out there lol

If u lived closer to me I would have loved being ur friend , you sound a lot like me lol
I'm 29, three kids
Sometimes being adults it's hard meeting new people
Good place to meet new friends would be mothers groups, bootcamps , or classes that might interest you to take up

i found school mums were the worst place to look for friends....everyone was busy.....catty or immature...i focus on doing what i enjoy and doing so I come in contact with those with common interests....every so often with sign up to something like a kazaa buffet they cost about $30 and all materials are provided and its a bit of fun and the ladies are from all different backgrounds and age groups which works well for me.

also volunteering I come in contact with many.

I'm not one for going out and partying or even regular BBQ's and meet up's and I have no time at all for gossips or manipulators. iv met quite a few with common interests on facebook and every few years I will buy myself some cheap seats on a flight and book a hotel room and drag one such friend along to occupy the other bed and we just get out of the house for a weekend or so....its a nice break from the chaos we each live with at home.
