Primary school fees in Victoria.
Some are single amounts, some are broken into a compulsory and voluntary fee.
Have you or anyone you know of who has not paid primary school fees?
Did their children miss out on activities?

Hi IM, we've been struggling financialy for the last few years and have 3 kids in school. You need to have a look on the education departments website. School fees are NOT compulsory but if an excursion/incursion comes up & you don't pay it the child will miss out. Same goes for camps, pretty much anything you get a note home for that you have to pay for. You can ask for a appointment to talk to the principal & if you are struggling financially sit down with him/her and explain your situation, they may be able to help you with fees camps (they have an allocated amount within each school to help with these things) but if it is anything that your child has to learn he/she will not be excluded, that is illegal. I'm in Vic also & my eldest is going to high school next year, I sat down with the all the fees & the vic education website open & ticked all the ones off that I don't have to pay. It didn't give me an option on the paperwork but I think that's were they get you. People think they HAVE to pay it but really they don't. I'm absolutely shitting myself about next year & have asked the school for an app with the welfare lady.
