Asking question for my girlfriend who is 14 weeks pregnant. She has been told her baby has velamentous cord insertion. Has anyone had this during their pregnancy? What was the outcome? Would love to give her some real life stories :) thanks in advance

Yes, my cousin just gave birth to her first baby with this complication. Her experience, as I understand it, was extremely lucky and positive - she was scanned on a regular basis. They were about 50/50 on whether they were going to do a planned c-section but I *believe* they eventually decided to allow her a trial of labour. In the end her waters broke about 2.5 weeks early and he was born naturally (and very quickly).
