Hi ladies, I'm pregnant with #3 and just wondering if anyone has had VBAC after lletz procedure?
I had my first child vaginally (induced a week early) due to having gestational diabetes. With my second, I also had gestational diabetes. My waters broke on their own 2 weeks early but had high blood pressure and bubs wasn't moving, so had an emergency c-section.
So I'm just wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and had a vaginal birth?

I had a lletz procedure done back in 08 for CIN III, I have since given birth vaginally twice in 2010 and 2012, was not an issue. As for the c-section I personally have not had one but know many who had them and thought I may of needed one with my second so did a large amount of research, having a vaginal delivery after a c-section is possible doctors only don't like it if you have had multiple c-sections as the scar tissues etc can rupture. all I could suggest would be to do research talk to your mid wife and doctor and go from there
I had a LLETZ in 2004, then had two vaginal births in 2009 and 2012. A VBAC after a LLETZ is not different to any vaginal birth after a LLETZ :-) The fact that you've had a caesarean doesn't impact at all on the part of the cervix that has a scar from the LLETZ. You've got a terrific chance of having a successful VBAC, as you've had a vaginal birth before. As a midwife, I have seen many VBACs and I can say for sure that they're soooo much easier if your body has already pushed out a baby before! Because your uterus has the caesarean scar, the hospital policy will state that you should be on a CTG (continuous electronic monitoring of the baby's heart rate) throughout your labour once you've been admitted to birth suite - this is the policy in all hospitals as far as I'm aware. If your scar starts to come apart, compromising the blood flow through the placenta to the baby, the CTG will show signs of fetal distress and the midwives and doctors can act early so you and your baby stay safe. The chances of this happening are extremely small, and even if it does happen, the chance of your baby being compromised because of it are even smaller. You are probably already familiar with labouring on a CTG because you were induced with your first baby - you most likely had continuous monitoring then. So nothing new :-) Good luck, hope all goes well!
