I am seeking anyone with experience with twins and or hyperovulation. When I was 19, I fell pregnant naturally with twins (there is no family history on either mum or dads side that I am aware of). They were di/di twins (so 75% chance that they were fraternal), however the pregnancy did not progress past 11 weeks so I am unsure if they were fraternal or not. Fast forward three years and hubby and I were trying for another baby. I came off implanon and it took us 16 months before we fell preg (naturally) for no apparent reason except that I have irregular cycle lengths (ranging from 25-50 days) each month. Investigations into this found no apparent cause for the irregularity and blood tests determined that I was ovulating (although I only had blood tests done over one cycle and this was the same cycle that I fell pregnant). Hubby now wants to start trying for number two as it took so long to fall last time (our son is 11 1/2 months). The thought of twins again scares the hell out of me! I guess what I'd like to know is the chances of falling with a second set of twins? Also does anyone know if irregular cycles can cause hyperovulation?

Having two sets of twins is very very very rare! By my calculations you are only 24 so don't feel like you need to rush into anything.
Its not actually as rare as people think... That's what scares me!
Go discuss with your doctor as they will be narrow down the risks based on your specifics
