Hi mums/dads.. Im needing information on townsville.. my partner has just got a job there, he will be there before myself and the kids can come.. as we need to find a house and all the other things that come with moving.. while i have been looking for work i have come across a place that i cant find much information about The North Queensland club.. if any ones knows information about this place would be a great help, eg. What they do, what ppl go there, what sort of food, and anything else u can think of would help me out so much.. By the way i am a chef if u know of any other jobs down there that would help.. also information about which doctors and daycare/ family care.. thanks heaps sorry for the long story

I've been to a networking function there but it was just standard canape type stuff on the night. It was a fairly nice, clean premises though and my understanding (which could be wrong) is that it is a membership organisation, fairly corporate (executive level) and probably pretty male dominated clientele and the type of place where some of the "higher up" types of people go for lunches & stuff, I am pretty sure they only open for dinner/events by appointment.
I also happen to know that there is quite a big development in the city (City Lane) that is going to be new bars, cafes & restaurants (opening in the first quarter of the year) and quite a bit of other stuff happening - I read in the paper the other day that Cafe Bambini are going to a bigger location on Gregory St in North Ward so I think there will almost definitely be some opportunities for you in the next couple of months.
I like My Family Doctors in the city as they bulk bill, are a fairly new & quiet practice and can usually fit me in when I wake up realising I need to get my Pill prescription today. I don't have kids and don't really get sick often so haven't really needed a Dr so probably don't take that as a gospel recommendation for your family :)
We have fairly active Facebook groups (buy sell swap pages etc) in Townsville so if nobody here can recommend daycare for you it might be worth starting a thread on one of them to try and find a home daycare/recommendations.
