tonsils and adenoids

My 17 month old just had his tonsils and adenoids removed and we are currently on day 5. So far he has been good through the day but terrible at night, I'm getting about 2 to 3 hrs of broken sleep a night. It seems to just get worse and worse. The hospital didn't tell us what we would be in for so I am asking what other mums went through. How long did it take to recover and sleep better. Also did anyone experience teething at the same time.

I had my tonsils out as an adult. It was painful abc took me a few weeks to get back to normal. I wasn't teething at the same time though so that would be awful! Don't skimp on the pain relief and if you have any concerns at all you should have gotten an info sheet with a phone number on to ring. If not getting a dr out or an appointment with your GP wouldn't hurt.

Are you using pain stop and panadol? Pain stop was the bomb when my son had his tonsils out. If I remember correctly they get worse by about day 3/4 and it can take up to two weeks to fully recover.
