Currently have a referral for an ENT for my son. He has large tonsils and is a heavy breather, at night I have noticed he breathes through his nose as well.
He is not a good night sleeper, we are up constantly at night to re settle him. All these things started happening when he turned 1. I just want to know what other mums little ones were like and if u found a way to help ur lo whilst on a wait list

My mum used to always have the head of my bed on an angle so I was always partially sitting up whilst I slept, it seemed to help most of the time. I cant remember what else she'd do to help me.
It's not always possible but I paid for a couple of surgeries as a private patient and didn't have health insurance. It was surprisingly cheap! Might be worth looking into rather than having to suffer through.
I'm tempted to do that, can I ask how much it was?
Did you have sleep issues during the day
Although I don't have advice on what yo do whilst waiting for the surgery, If it is a possibility at all it is well worth going privately. We had health insurance which covered most of it but not having to wait was fantastic. My son had the same issues and had grommets at 1 then went back to get tonsils and adenoids removed at 2. It made a tremendous different to all of our lives, well worth it.. Goodluck.
