My 3 month old got thrush in his mouth and the dr prescribed nilstat oral liquid. My question is has anyone given this medication to their babies and did it have any side effects ie constipation, grumpiness, very sooky? Or are these caused by the thrush itself?

We had to use it for our son at similar age. Didn't notice any side effects from the nilstat. The grumpiness etc was from the discomfort of the thrush. Can't remember him getting constipated at all.
My baby got that at 2 weeks and I think it was cuase from antibiotics that he had in hospital after birth. Nilstat can be bought over the counter so that's how I got it for my baby and if you breast feed you have to rub some on your nipples to after a feed as you can get it to. I googled thrush in babies and that how I found how they got it and that you can get it from breast feeding and the midwife that was visiting me said the same thing to me when I questioned her about it
We used Nilstat for thrush when my baby was only a few weeks old. It worked very well, no side effects
