threatened miscarriage

Hi Fellow Mums. Currently about 6wks pregnant and was in emergency room yesterday and the final diagnosis was a threatened miscarriage. I have to wait another 2 day before I have a final decision if the pregnancy will continue or its a miscarriage. My hormone levels are little low for six weeks but at this stage we're just going on the dates of my last period. Yesterday was our first scan. Sonographer said everything looks ok, but the doctor doesn't agree. I know everyone and every situation is different but just need some help so I don't lose my mind. TIA

Try to relax, the doctor is the one you should listen to as the sonographer is just the person who does the ultrasound. In saying that try not to panic, if it is going to happen there is nothing you can do to stop it. I know it's easier said then done but try to rest. I wish you the best of luck xx

I've had three miscarriages, the last was two months ago. It was the first time I was hospitalised for it and I definitely think that the doctors I had over medicalised everything! They wanted me to go through surgery to look for the pregnancy (even though they admitted themselves that they didn't know where it was based on the scan), they offered me a methotrexate to bring on the miscarriage as well! I refused all options. Hormone levels speak for themselves I believe. My levels weren't doubling and I sadly knew it was inevitable. That doesn't mean I needed surgery or a curette to do what my body has done twice previously. Trust in your body that it knows what it's doing. Did your baby have a heart beat at the scan? The risk of miscarriage falls dramatically after seeing a heartbeat. You need to accept that it's out of your hands. As hard as that is, take each day as it comes.
I'm not saying that you shouldn't follow your doctors advice, I would've been prepared to consider the options I was given but only after I'd given my body a week or two to do it on it's own.

No heart beat. But i was told during a previous dr appointment that a heart rate wasn't visible until 7-8 weeks
