I currently live in Melbourne with my partner and our 10 month old. For the past 3 or so years something in me has said to move to Queensland. The main reason is the weather. I am so sick of the cold and inconsistent weather in Melbourne.
There are a few things holding me back.
1. Work. I worry I won't be able to find a job. And worry that my partner won't either. He is nearly 30 and considering an apprenticeship. He currently is a forklift driver. I have previously worked in logistics roles.
2. Family. I'm a bit uncomfortable with the idea of taking my son away from family. All our family is in Melbourne. We're not that close, but don't want to ruin any bonds that my son may have with them.
3. Friends. My partner and I aren't the most social people. I know a few people in Queensland through work, but not really friends with them. Am I right in thinking I might make friends through my son and daycare/kinder etc?
I don't really know if I have any specific questions. Just after others opinions and wonder if anyone else has been in a similar situation.

I moved states but had a job to go to before I left. I wouldn't move without considerable savings. Centrelink will not pay you for quite some time if you quit a job voluntarily so make sure you have done the sums, looked at unemployment rates etc in your area. Look at how long it would take to start being paid unemployment etc. because you could find yourself in a disaster otherwise.
I had a job to go to and my bond saved plus enough money to live in temporary housing for a month. Also look at how tight the rental market is. You might need to find a real estate specialist to find you a rental. Moving can be very expensive.
I should've mentioned that we would sell our house in Melbourne which would give us around $100k.
I would like one of us to have a job lined up, and find a rental property.
I'm scared we'll move, and not like it and have to move back and start all over. Ugh I'm just confused lol
Oh, and should say I'm already technically unemployed. I'm on maternity leave, but will be made redundant when I return to work next month.
