Hi IM's,
Out of curiosity what have been other mums experiences with tax returns on a low income and having young children? I have earnt roughly $26000 (including my mat leave) and have 2 children under 3yo. I have been told you get a lump sum of around $500 per child? Not sure how much of that is true though? Any help please?

I have a feeling you may be referring to the family tax benefit part A & B supplements. If you receive ftb a & b through out the year, once your payments have been balanced (tax returns completed) you will recieve a "lump sum" payment - provided there has been no overpayment, the family tax benefit part A supplement is $726 per child and the family tax benefit part B is $354 per family. Also all children must be up to date with immunisations.
