Ok so yesterday I had a cleaning lady, recommended by a friend, come and clean my house for the second time in 3 months. I only get her in when absolutely needed. Anyway today I can't find my Gucci sunglasses anywhere and we just went to watch a movie and the hard drive on our TV is gone...
Do I automatically suspect her and ask her, possibly wrongly accusing her or do I recheck the house for the millionth time in the morning.
We have a parents retreat with a separate loungeroom to the kids so it couldn't have been them, and hubby was asking me where it was so definitely wasn't him.
What would you guys do?

Maybe ask her if she possibly moved them while cleaning? Don't be accusing but just say they have been misplaced and you don't want to stress to much incase they had been moved. :)
What Elizabeth said, don't accuse just say you can't find where she put them when she cleaned... Hopefully she did just pop them in some obscure place for some reason - good luck
I would leave $10 bucks lying around somewhere and see what happens...
I would just ask her, politely, if she has seen them. It does sound a bit suss to me, so use your gut, if she sounds funny when you ask her, just don't hire her again. I don't think there is much else you can do.
If it were just the glasses then they could easily have been misplaced but the tv hard drive? That's so weird. Is it something you or someone in your family would normally move?
I would definitely ask her if she moved them and I would be talking to your friend about your suspicions. If you get no joy then I'd contact the police.
Thanks for the feedback guys, I found the sunglasses and thought to myself phew... thank god I didn't say anything. So kept searching high and low for the hard drive, alas it is definitely gone.
I do suspect she took it, as the parents retreat is the top floor of the house and only me and my partner come up here, we were watching it the night before she came in to clean and it was gone the next night when we went to watch it again. It is only ever unplugged when we transfer onto it.
I sent her a message asking if she had seen it, and of course she didn't admit to it and hasn't seen it.... just not sure if I let her come again in case it wasn't her or what... Will have to figure it out.
I am pretty sure the only other option is the fairies took it.
I wonder if having her again another time, it might 'magically' appear again? x
