I'm fed up with my weight!
I'm a mother of 2 very energetic boys 4yrs and 2yrs and a farmers wife! I have been struggling with my weight since I was breastfeeding my first son. I just cant seem to lose it. I tried group fitness when i can, living on a farm makes it hard to join a gym. I've tried herbalife which didnt completely work for me.
I'm so frustrated with myself that I didnt lose the baby weight. I just want it gone.
How have other mothers managed with weight lose that have distance and money as an issue?
Thank you

like you,I've struggled to lose that baby weight...I have the "love rolls" of 3 beautiful boys to lose & nothing seemed to work...I woke up one day & said enough was enough- I started small by lowering my meal sizes & trying to make healthier food choices. I also stumbled across a cheap exercise bike at an op shop...started for just 10mins each morning, now doing half hr each morning Mon to Fri plus walking with the kids.....my point, take little steps & you can get there---good luck
Michelle bridges12 week body transformation! Google it. It will change your life!
Im very surprised you didnt get the results you wanted with Herbalife. I am a Distributor so please feel free to contact me and i can help this time around.
There is an app for your ipad or phone, called My Fitness Pal. My brother just lost 25kg using it, and I have lost 10 (baby weight) so far. No gimmicks, special food, or training schedules. I highly recommend it.
However, if you have the money, I lost 25kg doing Lite n Easy after my first bub, and it stayed off until this bub, even with pregnancies in between.
If you are a snacker like me, I would recommend getting some Slim Me Noodles...they are not as nice as pasta, but they are very nutritious and only have 6 calories per serve, so you can use them to fill the gap when you want to munch.
Is this the free app? I've downloaded it but it won't go past the final sign up page.
Yes, it's free.
Did you put your details in?
I agree with the Michelle Bridges comment. I found it the best way to learn about what i should be doing and eating.
I have struggled also. I am a stay at home mum to a beautiful 2yo boy & struggled to breast feed, I wanted to do it to help loose the weight. When it didn't work out I got depressed & the weight pulled on. Before I got pregnant I was 55kg I've always been tall but thin. I was 80kg and fed up. I had tried herbalife like your self and couldn't stick to it cos it tasted horrible.
I joined a gym and it was too hard going every night I was so tired.
I recently seen a dr and got bloods done and turns out I'm low in iron & vit D so I now take supplements and feel great!
Me and a friend exercise every night either a walk or we made our own class up we do in her patio area! Crunches, squats, planks ect.
I'm down to 76kg in two weeks. And that's with having a rapid loss shake for lunch (delicious) and clean eating for tea!
Cut out soft drink completely.
It's something I feel is a life change not just a fad diet, I also couldn't afford the gym or personal trainer that's why I just walk instead, and i grew up on a farm and used to walk all around the bush tracks so get out there girl and get going and you will soon start to see results and you will continue to work at it. It's not a overnight fix, give your self time and have lots of support!
Best wishes xxxx
I put on almost 20kg, and after 5 months only have 5 left. On days like today - my little man is teething - I can't find the time or the inclination to do anything other than watch telly and eat a WHOLE pack of Tim tams, but I use the my fitness pal app to track what I'm eating and this was a real eye opener. There are a few workout apps that I've used on and off, like the 7 minute workout and the deck of cards to do stuff in the house when bub goes down for a 45 minute nap. I also have a stationary bike that I make myself cycle in front of the telly - if I don't get the chance whilst he's napping I do it when he goes down at night (whilst dinner is cooking usually, if I can obviously leave it to do its own thing). It's very hard, I never thought I'd put on the weight that I did and now finding much harder than I thought to shift the weight. All we can do is take it one day at a time!
Sorry this is going to be long! My weight has fluctuated a lot since having children. I gained 28kg with my first but lost it by the time he was 9 months old. After having my second I have really struggled to lose weight. I've been so frustrated with myself for not being able to get on track this time. Life is so much busier and we've had a hard year, I'm a comfort eater so stress isn't good for weight loss! Recently I put on a few more kilos and it was exactly what I needed to wake me up. I am finally in the right frame of mind to lose weight. At the end of the day you can try every different diet and exercise plan there is but if you're not in the right frame of mind to stick with it you won't get the results.
The first and probably hardest thing was admitting that all of my reasons for not losing weight were just excuses. Yes I have 2 children under 4 with little family support in Melbourne, yes my husband works long hours, yes it's been a crap year, yes I'm running my own handmade business. I had to admit that I was just making excuses, it's really hard to do!
Secondly I had to believe I could lose the weight. After countless attempts throughout the year I'd lost hope. I have to constantly remind myself that I can do it!
Lastly I had to decide not to go on a diet. Instead I decided to change my lifestyle for good. In the past I've lost weight by going on really strict diets and exercising 6 days a week, it just wasn't sustainable and that's why I put weight back on. This time I'm being more realistic and more forgiving of slip ups. I don't think 'Oh I've gone over my calories for the day so I may as well go nuts'. I don't worry about it and don't feel bad. A little bit over every now and then won't make a difference.
Once you have those things sorted it becomes a lot easier. I've already lost almost 4kgs in a few weeks. Different things work for different people but I find calorie counting the best thing for me. A lot of people say 1200 calories per day is ideal but there's a lot of new research saying this is too low. I'm eating 1400-1500 calories per day and I'm getting fast results. I eat loads of fresh vegies, fruit, small portions of lean protein, good carbs, yoghurt etc. I allow myself to have small treats sometimes and work it into my calorie budget so I don't get cravings. I eat much smaller portions. Michelle Bridge's recipe books are great for low cal dinners and have taught me how much I should be eating. There's an app called 'My Fitness Pal' which is fantastic for keeping track of diet and exercise. Admittedly I haven't started exercising yet but will be signing up for an 8 week boot camp program in January and am looking forward to lots of swimming over the Christmas period.
Also you mentioned money being an issue. You don't have to pay for some fad diet or join a gym to lose weight. We're spending less on food because we've cut out takeaway and walking is free!
Sorry for the massive essay! Feel free to message me if you want to chat!
I'm also a farmers wife and share your frustration at the lack of gym etc. I'm lucky to have enough space to create a mini gym for my self in the garage. You could also try some aerobic dvd's that you could do in the lounge room while I am sure the kids will have fun copying u. Above exercise is your diet. If you can fix your diet then your 80% of the way. If you like to do lots of baking and cooking (as I do), try to challenge yourself by looking for healthier options and cutting processed foods. That what I try to do. Good luck! Try reading women's health and there like it for motivation and yummy healthy recipes too! ;-)
Woops my post went on twice!
