I'm totally lost and I just don't know what to do.
I'm 17 weeks pregnant with my third baby, married for 4 years, with my husband for 6.
When I was a teenager I had my first pap smear which showed I had chlamydia, soon after meeting my husband, despite only having one sexual partner prior to my husband- thats all it takes.
In short it was treated however being the slack teenager I was I never went for the follow up appointment to re-check and confirm it had gone. Now 6 years down the track I have been having terrible recurring thrush like symptoms (with some additions) and my doctor is concerned it perhaps wasn't cleared and I still have it. I have had another test however will have to wait out the weekend before receiving results.
I was kind of in shock during my appointment today and didn't think of all the questions until after so I'm wondering if anyone else can help?
What affect will this have on my baby? Is treatment safe in pregnancy?
What affect would this have on my two children born throughout this 6 years?
Would it have had damaging affects to me??
I feel disgusting. Being told that was a possibility and having to have the tests was one of the most horrible things i've been through- it made me feel like I was disease ridden. This will be the longest weekend ever!!

Firstly relax, it may have nothing to do with chlamydia. One of the long term effects of chlamydia is infertility, now we know you aren't infertile :)
Take a deep breath, don't google doctor. Just relax and wait for the results as chances are the doctor is just doing due diligence.
Thank you, I got the results yesterday and it all came back negatively- apparently I just get extremely bad thrush while pregnant!!
If by chance it is chlamydia there is a certain type of treatment/tablet that you can take that is more safe than the others. However like all things there is a chance of side effects.
The tablet from memory starts with Z or R.
I was in a similar situation however found out earlier in my pregnancy. My boy Is nice and healthy.
Don't stress untill you get your tests back it won't do you any good.
And make sure your partner gets tested to
Please don't worry...I had chlamydia when I was pregnant, I just had to take a looong course of antibiotics (because you can't take the strong, one off tablet that you normally take) which is safe for baby and you. If it is definitely Chlamydia, it's good that it has been diagnosed before the baby is born because there was a high chance it could have been given to bub (that's what my doctor told me so don't quote me) as for your other 2 kids...maybe talk to your doctor about it.

More likely you got it recently. It would have shown up on your tests when you were previously pregnant otherwise. ....
