starting school

Okay ladies this is a bit of a different one but I'm hoping someone may have the answer.
I have a little one who will be due to start school in the next few years. My little family and I live on our boat and technically do not have a residential address.... I'm starting to wonder how this will affect us as we are not in any catchment area for schools...will we be able to apply to any public school, we like, will we have trouble getting into any, should I be trying to enroll earlier then usual? Any advice appreciated ?

Im just sitting here thinking.. wow they live on a boat with no residential address, scary kind of cool lol maybe wait till 6 -9months before he starts school to start making enquiries .. you may have an address by that time!

You can apply for different public schools outside your catchment area. My kids go to a different public school other than their catchment. Usually it has to be a good reason and the kids in catchment get first prefferance then you maybe considered. My kids go to the school next to my work for convinence sake. But to get them in their i had to apply, write a letter and speak to the principle before being accepted. If you move around alot you could do homeschooling
