Hi, my husband has been working away for three nights & gets back tonight so I wanted to cook him a delicious meal for dinner.
I went to the butcher & brought 7 lamb shanks that ended up costing me $46, I know right, ouch to my wallet but I love hubby and wanted something special the kids have missed him too even though it's only been 3days lol.,
I could only JUST fit 5 of the lamb shanks into the slow cooker:(
I really wanted to slow cook them but as they are only just fitting I'm worried they may not cook proply is there an alternative way of slow cooking them in the oven or do you know of any other ways I can cook them or make sure they throughly cooked? Help lol dinner needs to be served by 6pm

You can slow cook in the oven or even on the stove top. I just use a Dutch oven (large heavy saucepan). On the stove top it's basically a simmer or in the oven about 170degrees
Thanks :-) if worse comes to worse and the slow cooker didn't work I'll put on stove top
How long roughly on the stove top ?
The longer the better. I often cook mine all day but a few hours is enough. It's the one thing I don't like about slow cookers as they don't cook long enough to get the really rich flavours. But really you can just cook to taste.
