How do I get my 2 week old to sleep through the night?

Your bub is brand new. All the days and nights are still a big jumble. Don't expect anything. The the best thing you can do is start a simple routine that only you stick to. Bath, massage, cuddle, bed. Add your feeding into that and do it every night. It is not normal for a 2 week old to sleep through. They need to be fed at least once or twice, ATLEAST. It is all normal

I suggest you check out the pinky Mackay page she has & explains some useful info:) your baby is still new to the world so as tired as you might be you just have to relax & go with what your baby is needing right now.

Your baby being new has no idea of the concept of day or night. For her/him eating and sleeping is all they know. Don't worry, your bub will get into a routine by 6-7 weeks (I know that seems forever). They need at least 6-8 feeds or fed every 2-3hrs at this age. My bub didn't sleep through the night till about 12 weeks. At about 7 weeks I fed him at 8pm, gave him a dream feed at 12am and he slept till 4am. Now he is 14 weeks, gets fed at 8pm and sleeps through till about 5-6am. Don't worry, your time will come just be patient. Good luck x

A 2 weeks old child 'generally' needs to feed every 3-4 hours because their stomach's are so small. They cannot hold enough food to sleep through the night. Generally by 6 months you would expect a child to be able to sleep through (whether they do or not is another question)
