Hi everybody! I have been thinking about using a hamper company (such as chrisco or castle hampers) for next year but was just after some opinions. My hubby and I are great with debt but terrible at saving! We thought ordering a hamper would allow us to have a fantastic Xmas feast but spread the payments out over the year. The problem is that I am an Aldi shopper and I know this is a much more expensive option in the long run. Obviously the best option would be to save money each week and do a massive Aldi shop next christmas but like I said - we are terrible savers and would just spend the money! Any advice or your experience using a hamper company would be greatly appreciated!!!

i use chrisco for "pantry fillers" ie drinks, pastas, sauces, frozen veg etc. because it arrives in november, i dont do ANY fresh grocery shopping, because theres heaps to eat and live on. The grocery money I save then goes on Christmas groceries...glazed ham, etc. and the drinks ive got from chrisco go in an esky and everyone helps themselves. saves me aloy of drama,im a single mum of one :)
We get hamper king but get vouchers - this year we've gotten $1000 from Coles Myer & $500 Woolworths group ones. This covers all Xmas presents, groceries, fuel, & new stuff we need for the house (for eg last year we bought a new bbq). I find the vouchers a better deal because with the hampers you always end up with stuff you don't eat & it's significantly more expensive. We're also Aldi shoppers, & while I know getting groceries from Coles/woolies is dearer, it's for Xmas. I wish Aldi would get vouchers!!
