Inspired by the ask google ad, last night i randomly entered my name in the search bar and got some results. It included my linkedin profile, some facebook profiles of people with similar names etc. Nothing much... Then i entered my cell number and to my horror, the very first result was from my daughter's school. I clicked the link and it had the whole list of students in her class, name and address and parents numbers etc. I think someone can use that info to harm the kids. If someone is trying to look for a person and randomly try to enter the info he have on google, he can come up with much more info. And i believe, the privacy clause while schools get info from students states that the info will stay with school and will not be shared with outside bodies. Or may be its just a document thats accidentally linked to the website and im not sure if its just for my kids class or for all other classes as well. My question is should i talk to the management to take that info off their website? Or am i being extra conscious about it?

I would tell them and I would want that info taken down. I'm from a DV relationship and want to make sure ex can't track me down, this info could danger my life and my childs life...
That info should not be available on the internet unless you have agreed for it to be, definitely contact the school
Yes!! Contact the school. There is no way that info should be publicly available.
I would be in there straight away telling them to take it down.
Thanks everyone. I had a meeting with principal and discussed it with her. She asked the admin lady and the IT person to join too and everyone was astonished. They verified it multiple times.. and started to resolve the issue immediately. Thanked me a million times too :)
