Sensitive tattooist?

Sensitive tattooist?

I was wondering if anyone in the brisbane/south east area can recommend a good tattooist who can cover up scars? Long story short... I was an idiot when I was younger and didn't know how to deal with my emotions, so turned to cutting... But now I have children of my own and I would like them covered with beautiful art.. So if anyone could recommend someone that would be sensitive and understanding?

Honestly, I am in a similar boat with scars on wrists etc. I thought long and hard and decided to not cover them as they are a part of who and where I was and an important lesson. I also have my own children now and though the kids have not noticed mine yet due to their young ages, I will make best of the experience and share the lessons I learnt with them. Hopefully something positive may be learnt from my mistakes :) not sure if that could be your wave length but thought I would share.

I'm in melbourne so I can't really help with any artists in Brisbane however when I was getting my first tattoo I went around to shops and chatted to the artists.
They are very professional people and will be sensitive to your situation, don't be ashamed of the scars.
Tattoo artists have to cover all sorts of scars from burns to cuts so just worry about finding an artist you feel comfortable with!

There's a tattoo convention at the Gold Coast this weekend, a great opportunity to meet numerous artists to get a feel for their "attitude" and see their work. It's Fri 10- Sun 12th Jan at the Convention Centre, www.tattoofestival.com.au you might even be able to get advice if it's possible to tattoo over the scars, some (keloid scars) can be very difficult if not impossible to tattoo over. I did see a great pic of one just yesterday where a scar was "hidden" as a light sabre, the actual tattoo was of a ewok and the scar formed the light sabre part.. Good luck
