IVF- QLD fertility Group Cairns. Anyone had dealings with them? We are looking at IVF due to ttc for 3 years with no luck. Their website says should end up about $3100 out of pocket (we have no health insurance) while the not so nice receptionist just told me it would cost $12000. A HUGE difference here!! Would love to know the REAL costs of IVF, especially anyone who has been through the QFG in Cairns. Thanks

I did- I went through cairns fertility first- got all my eggs and embryos and did 2 x transfers there, neither were successful- I then transferred all of my remaining embryos (as my dr at CFC went on leave when I wanted to do a transfer) and saw Dr Miller- first transfer with him was successful ☺️ So 3 transfers, egg collection and all the tests on the lead up was approx $22,000- and got about $11,000 back through Medicare/medibank. Out of pocket about $11,000 over a 2 year period. QLD fertility were cheaper than CFC- however I learnt a lot from CFC so I am very happy with my experience seeing both.. My baby is 2 moths old and believe me, worth every cent... The cost would differ depending on how successful your transfers are- if you fall first time off it will be cheaper than it cost me.. Best of luck ;)
Thank you! I'm thinking that $12k figure was before rebates. Geez, she could have mentioned that instead of scaring me!
I have been to both QFG & Cairns Fertility Centre. I personally would recommend Cairns Fertilty over QFG. I found that Dr Miller didn't make an effort to get to the bottom of my fertility issues where we completed 3 transfers (one fresh and two frozen double embryo) with no further exploration once each transfer didn't work. Cairns Fertility were much more thorough and after two unsuccessful transfers and then a laparoscopy discovering in diagnosed endometriosis my sixth transfer ended in pregnancy and the birth of my gorgeous baby girl. I really have no idea on what I spent over the last few years on fertility treatment I only know that it was worth every financial and emotional cost to start my family. Everyone's experience is difference, I can only advise you through my own personal journey. Good luck with starting your family.
Hey a couple of things have worked with my sister to fall pregnant, they had been trying for years and fell straight away when she started this protocol....
1 EVENING PRIMROSE OIL DAILY- has Gamma Linoleic Acid which helps to balance hormones, great for endometrosis awesome to also get rid of hormonal pimples and acne, helps men too there have been some studies where animals had bigger litters when the males were supplemented with this wonder oil.

2 FOLATE!!!!! DAILY Every day get at least 1 serve of green leafy vege like spinach, brocoli, brussel sprouts, green beans, peas for the folate as well. Juice fresh beetroots is also full of natural folate
(Folic Acid is the synthetic form of folate and is in all the vitamin supplements and fortified in breads, and some people (like me) cannot absorb it fully, I'd avoid that one at all costs)

3 EGGS DAILY- Should get the organic and free range as the chickens are getting better nutrients that go into the eggs, they have all the essential vitamins and minerals needed to support your body getting and staying pregnant. Particularly the Bvitamins and Choline is the nutrient that will powerhouse your babies brain.. :)
