Quetiapine, sleep and weight gain! Help!

I have been on Quetiapine for almost 2 years and have had horrible weight gain. I am taking it for anxiety and insomnia. While it helps me sleep I gained 18 kg during the first 3 months of taking it and a further 8 kg. I find if anything the weight gain has made me depressed and now I am so addicted if I miss it I can't sleep. I was on 150mg a night and now I'm down to 75mg with the help of a doctor with the aim to stop completely within the next 6 weeks. So my question is when you stopped were you able to lose the weight as right now exercise and eating well are not working. And once you stopped could you sleep?? Thanks ladies!

its a rubbish drug, there have been successful class actions in the US due to it's link to type 2 diabetes. there are far better options speak to your doctor.

TBH you can get better over the counter. go get some phenergan.

its been 5 years he hasn't been able to lose the 50kg from the 5 months he was on seroquel. but he was taken off it because he started bleeding from every orifice and blacking out/seizures.

he has also had the complication that all meds he has been on since also cause weight gain just not to the same degree.
