Prenatal vitamin drama...

Hello ladies?
Currently trying for our first bubba together, am on prenatal vitamins, but found they are delaying my period by a few days, and messing up my 30 day cycle... Anyone else have this drama? I really want to take them (ultivite preg plus) but don't wanna risk not ovulating etc... Help!!

Hmmm what a pain for you! I'm taking Elevit without any interruption to my cycle.
Rather than not taking a prenatal vitamin at all, take the vitamin and maybe use an ovulation test kit to make sure you don't miss your window op opportunity. It worked for me ;) Good luck!

I was told as long as you take a multi vitamin you don't need to have a prenatal vitamin. Of course prenatal ones are better for bub (only has what's needed), but any vitamin is better than none at all. You could also just take folic acid tablets which is the main vitamin you need. You could try another type, I started on elevit but it made me sick so I tried natures way mini's pregnancy and thrived on it. It might just be one ingredient that reacts to your body. Good luck!

I thought when you get your period was based on your hormones etc so im not sure why vitamin tablets would effect this. You generally ovulate 14 days before your period comes so if u have for eg. a 35 day cycle, maybe start doing the deed a few days before when you normally use to ovulate but continue until your closer to your period just to give yourself the best chance. You could also buy some ovulation tests which might help to pinpoint ovulation time. Also keep an eye out for changes in your cervical mucus, when it goes like egg whites ovulation is close! Good luck!!

I had a miscarriage last year and upon research found that it was common with those taking pregnancy vitamins (Elivit specifically) before getting pregnant.
So it you feel it's stuffing up your cycle, I'd stop taking it. You've been taking it long enough I would assume to have a decent folate base. Start taking again after falling pregnant though.
