I am currently pregnant with baby number two after a normal pregnancy with number one.
However my 20 week scan came back with the baby measuring in the 5th percentile, follow up scan at 25 weeks and the baby has grown but is sitting at the 2nd percentile.
Has any other I.M's had this experience and had a positive / negative outcome & what am I to expect?
Trying not to freak out and trying to stay calm.
Thanks

Hi I.M, I had this with my first pregnancy with my daughter. I was measuring about 4/5 weeks behind and in the last trimester, kept getting told that i was going to have a very tiny baby, which did freak me out! At 36 weeks, they got very concerned as she was only measuring at about 31 weeks. I ended up getting induced at 38 weeks and yes she was a small baby as I ended up with preclampsia aswell which didnt help, so she was born at 5 pounds 13. She did have to spend a few nights in special care nursery, but that was about it and I was still able to breastfeed her. I did end up being referred to a paediatrician and he monitored her weight for up to 2 years old, as she didnt gain a lot of weight in the first 6 months. It honestly stressed me out so much at the time, as she was a tiny baby and looked like a baby doll! But she is absolutely fine now at 3.5 years old! She is on the 50th percentile for height and weight now. Also the medical professionals get very hung up on the percentiles and graphs, which is understandable, but try and not worry and ask as many questions as you need to at those scans. I should have asked more, but I didnt and I was always left stressing about what was going to happen! Some people just have small babies and that can be for a number of reasons, so please just enjoy your pregnancy and trust that everything will work out as it is supposed to and wont be long before your holding your little bubba, small or big, it doesnt matter when you finally get to hold them in your arms! xx
I am 37 weeks preg and have a baby which has a low Papp A level and is measuring a bit behind. I am being induced next week at 38 weeks. I feel nervous. But I am hoping for the best.
