Hi i've had an IUD mirena in for 1.5 years and i feel like I'm pregnant. My breasts feel like they are getting bigger, they're so sore. I did a pee test but its come back negative. My doctor couldn't find the mirena in my last appointment either. Has any one else had these side effects? Have already made an appointment but just wanted to ask here as well.

Hi there, Whilst it is possible you could be pregnant it is also a known side effect of the Mirena to have "pregnancy like" symptoms.
I've had my mirena in for 4 years and at least once every 4-5 months I get this same thing. boobs get huge and tender (I have otherwise no sensation in them so its extremely noticeable) I bloat and get severe nausea and on occasions vomiting.
Same thing happened the first time in regards to the GP not finding my Mirena and has to have an ultrasound to see if it was in place which thankfully it turns out it is but the strings have either come off or its migrated up in my cervix and the strings can no longer be felt.
