Personal/Car Loans

Hi ladies,

Just wondering if any of you have got a personal or car loan whilst being on Centrelink?

My partner called a bloke and had a chat about a possible loan that would be in my name, but we would use the combined household income but he said I wouldn't get it as I'm on Centrelink..

I know of lots of people who have been approved loans even though they're on Centrelink.. Problem is, I don't have anything to do with them, nor do I want to. Hence why I'm asking all of you :-)

TIA x

Lots of people on centrelink that get loans get the dodgy ones... Trust me. It is very hard to get a proper loan if your income is centrelink. Your partner would be better off getting it under his name if he is employed.

To highlight how strange this can be, my husband needed a new car so we went hunting for someone who might give him a go as we are a single income family. Found someone legit, but it was better for my husband to get a loan under his name and his wage rather than our combined income (with ftb) and my name too. Even though with my husbands income being less and having 4 dependents including me it was still better than having someone unemployed and receiving a crntrelink payment on the paperwork too.

Unfortunately my partner can't get a loan. His credit is up shits creek lol mine is perfect though..
It went down hill just before we got together and for a while I was keeping up and on top of his bills but then I fell ill and we were living off only his wage. Sent us BROKE..
I've been desperately trying to get a job, even stacking shelves and have had NO luck.. I can't tell you how many applications and resumes I've handed out :-(
Our car is about to die :-(

But thank you anyway :)

Yeah sadly any company that lends to people on centrelink charge extremely high interest rates so you end up in a really bad position you can't get out of. There are ethical groups who have set up micro loans which may be worth looking in to.
