Hello I.Ms!
I am looking advice/experiences from parents who have studied for careers whilst raising children. We live in a rural area, and haven't got nearby access to University or Tafe but I guess we would be willing to move if needed.
My partner wants to get into accounting and I would love to do teaching. We are both in our late 20's and wondering, have we left it too late? I have heard a lot about online courses, can anyone tell me about their experiences with these? There obviously is a lot more to think about but my main question is, would it be possible for two parents with two children study to pursue careers?

If you plan well and are organised you can do it. Most universities have the information on websites regarding wether it's online or not and what the work load is. I think it also depends on what work commitments you have. You may find one of you studying fulltime and one part one initially and the other going fulltime when the first of you finished. You are definitely not too old and plenty of people go back to study when they are older and you have many, many work years left to make it worth while.
You may find you both get hectic around assignment exam time so you may want to consider who would help with the kids. Also some online courses still have contact hours (where you go to the uni for a week or a day or something) so check that out carefully. Also teaching will have a work experience component but they try and place you near to you.
Thabk you for your response. We both currently work. He does 38 hours over 5 days a week and I do 12 hours over 2 days a week.
CQ university is really good! They offer distance education and can combine diploma and degree to make it cheaper, easier and quicker. Here is the one for accounting http://www.cqu.edu.au/study/what-can-i-study/business,-accounting-and-la...
Completely do-able. But be realistic or you'll quit. Do you have family support? Your timetables will likely crash. And be prepared to be broke for four years. So dont make any major financial changes in the near future. Totally worth it in the end though.
