I am 12 weeks pregnant and today I stood up and blood went everywhere. I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks last year (no bleeding. I found out at an u/s) so needless to say I panicked. I have seen my doctor and he said my cervix was closed and he did an ultrasound. Bubba was jumping and wriggling around and was fine. He said that its likely I've had a bleed from the edge of the placenta and have been told to rest for the rest of the week. I have my 12 week nuchal scan on Friday and I'm trying to stay positive and relaxed but it is hard while I'm still bleeding. (Dr did say it could go on for a while). I guess I just want some reassurance. Has anyone been through something similar and have a happy ending? Thank you.

I haven't personally but I do have a friend who had a placenta bleed similar to what you are explaining & she went on to have a heathy baby. So continue trying to stay positive. x
Friend went through similar. It turned out to be loss of twin she didnt even know was there.
If bubs ok maybe just try n rest more n if your stil cpnxerned get a second opinion just to ease things n maybe get better answers.
I had bleeding (frequency of period but more like spotting or a little more and old blood) for the first four or five months. I was so scared the first time it happened but all was good and now have a gorgeous 8 month girl. I have read that if it is bright red and has clots you should get this checked by a doctor. I'm 34 weeks pregnant very healthy active baby and i bled when i first discovered i was pregnant and the next 3 months i bled when i usually would of gotten my period. But after that it stopped. Best of luck
Hi i bleed from 6 weeks till 13 weeks with my little girl now 2 :) no idea why best of luck with everything :)
My mate bleed on and off throughout her pregnancy and she gave birth to a baby girl. No probs. At 34 weeks I had a bleed and they couldn't find why, baby was fine placenta in tact. And I went full term and had a boy. It's very important to relax when this happens, don't stress.
Thank you for all your support and reply's. It is nice to know i am not alone. I had my nuchal scan yesterday and everything was great. I feel much more relaxed but there is still that hint of worry. I'm not sure that will go away. Thanks again everyone
