My daughter was measuring small from 18 weeks also in the belly area... I had a few extra scans to keep an eye on her but she stopped growing so had to be delivered at 34 weeks due to failing to thrive. Personally from what I've heard I'm in the minority and it doesn't usually require early delivery (just close monitoring). Thing to remember is although not ideal (as my girl had to stay in for 3.5 weeks) she needed no assistance breathing or anything! Totally healthy and just needed to be fed and gain some weight :-) I was told lots of protein in diet and lots of meals and snacks... Best of luck :-)
Also they told me to monitor movement! If anything different get things checked. I was in hospital for 2 weeks before as her movements slowed down. I knew something wasn't right - Trust yourself! I was sent home the first time and ended up back there as she still wasn't moving and then they took me seriously and admitted me.
Just reposted on the Facebook group too - and hope the responses help! xKelly
I have 2 daughters which both had smaller tummies in last trimester. I had twice weekly fetal monitoring and fluid scans. DD1 was born at 38.5wks at 5p9o DD2was born at 37.5wks at 5p1o. Both girls healthy put on the weight they needed and came hime with me. The cause for they're small tummies was because my placenta had stopped working like it should and wasnt delivering the full nutrients bubs needed. On both birth reports both placentas' read 'gritty'
