Mums improvising

Hey IM's what your best / funniest moment you've been caught out and had to improvise?

Today I ran out of nappies.
I Was getting ready to go do the big grocery shop and baby did a lovely huge poo.
After searching I found there was no random nappys around :-( so I ended up putting her in a pair of my toddlers undies with a maternity pad in them.
It worked great and gave me a good giggle as we were shopping knowing what she was wearing.

What's your best solution to random problems?

I don't know if it would be called improvising, I just didn't go in for the whole high chair, baby bath, bumper seat, bit.

we lived in the tropics. the kids spent a large portion of the time naked. clothing was for going out in. when we moved south it took them a long time to adjust and it freaked everyone out.

they would eat their meals at a kiddie table outside. clean up was a hose.

most snacks were put in the hand as they raced through the kitchen, clean up was easy.......we had a dog.

I never used a baby bath, it was the kitchen sink, or they crawled around the bottom of my shower and when they were more steady they went in the bath.

it wasn't a lack of these items. I had them....we just didn't use them. have you seen high chairs? those things are farken dangerous!

I spent my toddler years living in a caravan in a caravan park. There are some great photos of me as a baby sitting in the caravan kitchen sink for my bath :)

We went on a picnic but my son was a 'runner' we had forgotten to bring a stroller so got the baby seat out of the car and strapped my son in it and leant it up against a tree so I could eat my lunch safely for 10 minutes!
