Mixed feeding baby

Mixed feeding baby

Just wondering if any mums have mixed fed their baby by alternating feeds, so breast then bottle throughout the day and breast during the night? Has this worked? I feel like this option would be great for me but worried about milk supply. We have 4 kids so being able to give a bottle frees me up if my husband can feed the baby, and I don't always have time to express. I still enjoy breast feeding my baby but struggle with how long it takes and having time for the house and the 3 other kids!

Yes, this can work if you do it when breastfeeding is already well-established. For example, when my youngest was 6 months old I would give her the occasional bottle of formula just to give myself a break (or rather, her father did). So if your BF relationship is pretty well established it is less likely to cause any supply issues or nipple confusion.

Oh, another thing I just thought of. Invest in a baby sling that allows you to breast feed hands free. I had one like this and it was brilliant. I think the brand was "maya wrap". You might be able to find a similar style for cheaper but it really was worth every cent.
