Mirena problems

Hi IMa.
I got the Mirena IUD 6 weeks PP. My bub is now 7 months. Since I've had it I've gone from all day every day spotting-bleeding to barely any spotting at all occassionally (YAY). I definitely do not want another pregnancy for at least another year.

I have always reacted badly to the pull and was advised by medical professionals that, due to my reaction, implanon and depo would not be advisable, hence choosing Mirena.

I was infertile before having my eldest so I thought I was safe last time and fell pregnant again unexpectedly.

My issue now is that since getting the Mirena I have recurrent bacterial vaginosis and thrush. I am a clean person and have spent so much money buying feminine hygiene products to try to stop recurrence, the horrible smell and the uncomfortable symptoms.

I have been researching BV (bacterial vaginosis) to try to figure out what is happening and it seems that it is most likely due to the Mirena.

My question is: what birth control have other people in my situation used? I have tried Levlen ED, microgynon and one other that I can't recall the name of and they made me feel bloated, cranky and nauseous. Condoms are extremely uncomfortable and would lead to abstinence which is not the type of birth control I'm after.
