Losing the forever there belly fat

Hello IMS!

Im 27 and for probably atleast the last decade I've always had a pot belly. Im a size 8-10 but have always had this hideous gut which makes me look 6 months pregnant. I just look out of proportion due to it as I'm short too.

As my youngest is 2.5 (oldest 4) and we dont plan on anymore, I'm really wanting to get rid of this belly! Especially as its borderlining the 80cm health bracket.

I'm a shiftworker with two toddlers and a house to look after, how do other mums fit in a fitness routine. And what exactly do you do? My only form of exercise would be the 20min walk to the train station for work.

Also what are the best exercises and diets to target the stomach area. Im happy with every other part of my body i just wish for once i could be happy with my stomach.

I barely drink alcohol but i do smoke but I'm in the process of quitting for good :)
TIA IMS

I started off with a fit bit so I could track my activity. I realised how sedentary I was and started increasing my steps as a start. I also increased my protein and veggies and decreased my carbs. I found making one or two changes at a time so that each change became embedded in my routine much easier and more sustainable than making a big dramatic change that seemed over whelming. I do have a PT and go to the gym now but I worked up to that, if I'd tried that in the beginning I would have failed.
I find the biggest roadblock for me is my lack of sleep routine, as I'm getting healthier and fitter that's becoming less of a problem.

You can't spot reduce unfortunately! Many people will lose weight from everywhere but the area they're wanting to :( It also doesn't sound like you're overweight so losing weight won't help the issue.

Is it actual fat there or is it more like excess skin? If it's the former, a weight training regime devised by a good PT might help you lose fat and gain some muscle. If it's the latter, you might need to have a consultation with a plastic surgeon to have the skin removed.

Oh its definitely fat only a bit sags from the pregnancies haha. Im currently waiting to have my gall bladder removed due to stones so i am also eating less fatty greasy foods due to the attacks i get if i do eat bad food.

Start running! I have lost 25kg in 8 months since I started running. Body is in proportion and I no longer have my belly. I also do Beachbody program called Focus T25 which works the whole body in a 16 week program - you will see awesome results with both. And yes, lift weights, weight training will trim you down in no time! Good luck!
