I'm confused you have the money for an overseas holiday but can't afford thousands for legal fees?
This is poster.
i have family in america who im staying with for free and food.
im also using flybuys to pay for my flights.
So i have about 1500 spending money for myself n child.
lawyers asked for 1000 just to tell them what my issue is, another 1500 each court appearence they make and starting at $500 for research and extras. they have told me they quoted around $10,500 minimal for it all to get processed.
im looking for other avenues
You can self represent
You get the passport form, name take it to the jail, and he signs his part.you continue the form, and lodge it.
First you have to make a effort to get him to sign, even if you just send him the passport papers to the jail, if he doesn't sign you can try filling out a B-9 form with the passport papers and include in them why he wont sign (in my case it was because it was the last bit of control he had on my son, my son was 14 and he hadn't seen him in three years and had never had much to do with him) I however got really lucky and before I could lodge the paper work he had a change of heart and signed them, now time to save for a holiday. I wish you luck as I could never afford the legal fees it took me 14 years to get my sons passport
