Hi mummy's. Just have a question regarding my son.
A tad long please bare with me :)
18 December (Thursday) last year he got given his 18 month immunisation, the following Sunday 21st he developed a rash, wasn't well and extremely itchy, and I mean ITCHY!!! Got told it was due to the needle, he's had a bad reaction and possibly a mild dose of the measles, got him zyrtec and tried a vast assortment of creams. Fast forward a few weeks, the rash is gone but still extremely itchy, the skin on his hands and feet started to blister and peel off and he's also lost one of his big toenails.
The last day and a bit, the rash is starting to reappear and he is extremely irritable and the itching of course hasn't stopped since it prior started.
Just seen the dr who said it's just a heat rash and always has been. I mentioned again the peeling skin and the toenail to which he replied, yes that's common. I sorta left thinking ahhhhhh wtf.
Has anyone else's little ones gone through this? I really don't think it's a heat rash and am leaning towards scarlet fever??
Thanks in advance :)

Go to another doctor for 2nd opinion
My son had Scarlett fever at 14 months he didn't get a rash he just started to get big red splotches everywhere, started off on his bum and genital area first, he was also very lethargic and sleepy all the time, this happened within 24 hours of the first splotch appearing. He needed antibiotics. I can't remember anything about peeling skin and he didn't loose any nails.
I would take him for a second opinion. My daughter had scarlet fever last year. As the previous poster said, she also had peeling skin. She also required anitibiotics to get rid of it.
Take him for a second opinion as soon as you can.
The peeking skin and toenail sounds exactly like hand foot and mouth.
