Is it just a phase?

Is it just a phase?

Hi IM's

It may be a long one, because I'm confused and don't really know where to start. So please bare with me.

My daughter is 4 in September.
For the last few months, she has been going through what we thought was a 'phase', but her daycare have also expressed their concerns. I would like other IM's opinion.

She is extremely sensitive and emotional to the point of having a break-down.
Things like her socks not being lined up with her toes, her sleeves on her shirt are too long, her brother taking something that she hasn't played with for hours. Just a few examples.

She changes her clothes about 5 times a day, even at daycare, and she always has multiple layers. I took 7 shirts off her before her bath the other day.

She's also ways done this ticking motion (DC described it as the W) where she's on her hands and rocks back and forth.

Everything at home is great, we haven't moved or changed anything within the house hold.

Daycare are going to bring in an occupational therapist to asses her.
And hubby just seems to be still thinking its a phase and to either ignore her or distract her, but it isn't working and hasn't worked to this point.
She's just such an open and beautiful little girl, except for these moments she has through the day.

Any advise or similar situations would be appreciated.

Thanks for your time xx

Try a developmental pediatrician they can test her make sure she's doing all her mile stones and if their is an issue they can recommend which professional can best help her

Don't ignore, early intervention provides the best outcome whatever is going on. Developmental paediatrician would be my starting point. I would hold off on OT. DP will give appropriate referrals.
