Is it cruel to fly with toddlers?

My kids are 19 months and 3 years and next week we are flying from Aus to the UK, just me and the kids.
The eldest one did the trip before when he was 13 months and he was amazing. People actually complimented me on how good he was.

I've had this booked for months, but last night my husband told me I was cruel to take them on this flight and that I should wait until the youngest is 5. I haven't been home in 2.5 years already, if I wait until he turns 5 that will be close to 7 years without seeing my best friends and extended family, who I am still close to.

I'm not expecting it to be easy at all, but it's just one shit day (the return trip my parents will be on the flight so that's not so bad).

What do you think? Any tips or advice? I was dreading it before, now I'm really dreading it. Thanks hubby

Just do it. My niece and nephew fly big distances all the time, and they are 7 and 4. Have done since they were born. Your husband is being ridiculous!
