Iphone addiction help PLEASE!

Dnt get me wrong I love my kids, I do. But all I want to do is sit on my phone or read a book, in a world where I can escape.
I can no longer just sit down and eat breakfast, lay on the couch, watch TV, play with the kids or cook dinner without having my phone in my hand!
I know I need to stop. I need to spend time with my kids and enjoy them while they r little but at the same time; My phone is screaming for me!

How do I get rid of this bloody addiction? I need it for banking, emails, phone calls!
It's a horrible love hate relationship!

No you don't need it at all! There are plenty of ways to check emails, do your banking etc. ever hear of a computer? Turn your iPhone off put it in a drawer in a different room. Only switch it on when the kids are in bed. Or get an old fashioned computer and put it in a room and only check it once a day.

I was doing the same. I deleted any of those time wasting games I had on my phone? As they are pointless and addictive. I made a rule I could only look at it random crap (mostly news articles on facebook) when I first wake up and at 3pm coffee time . I also read novels on my phone but I only allow that at night after the kids are in bed. I can't switch my phones off as we don't use landlines and my mobile is how people contact me. I just sit it on the kitchen bench and only answer phone calls and if anyone texts me I only reply when either the kids are busy or at night. I hate when I speak to my partner and hes too busy staring at his phone to pay attention and I dont want the kids to feel that frustration/rejection.

My husband was exactly the same. Start off small... In the morning have a quick check of fb or whatever on your phone then leave it till after breakfast etc, etc. Set small daily goals and it will get easier. My husband now hardly touches his phone. You need to remember that your phone will always stay the same size, your children won't. Good luck mumma xx
