Hi there. Just wondering if any other IMs have an "incompetent cervix" and how have you gone with pregnancy?
I seem to be able to get as far as 25 weeks into my pregnancy before my cervix lets me down. I've been told I should not have more children. I'm young and I have one child already, but I feel like I just want that one more. But i don't think I could handle a late miscarriage or still birth again.
What has your doctor done for you?

Yes, my first born was 10 weeks early and because it was spontaneous there was no way to investigate the cause. I was told I would have extra checkups/ultrasounds etc the second time around and unfortuntely where I live the doctor I had was less than supportive. I ended up pushing for an extra ultrasound and checkup at 30 weeks and luck for me doing that cause a few days before I was booked in things took a drastic change -pressure/shifting low/pain. Was diagnosed with an incompetent cervix but it was too late for them to do anything preventative as I was completely affaced and bub was fully engaged and funneling. Had the steriods, popped on bedrest, contracted all day every day from 33 weeks on but bub did make it till 37 weeks! Can be done, but I won't be risking going back for another one unless I could be certain we would get some decent medical help. Do your research and find the nearest high risk clinic and book in there, they will help. Good luck mumma I hope everything works out for you xxx
