This happened to me, only it was just a phone in my name to my knowledge first I knew of it was being rejected for a loan I knew was within my means.. Turned out I had debt in collections for a phone internet and iPad I had given a girl a lift and she had stolen an old licence from my wallet.
Cancel all your cards that could be compromised. Perhaps open new accounts. Speak to police and a lawyer. Do a credit check on yourself too, every six months. This can take years to be resolved, hang in there!
