Ideas on getting baby too sleep

Hi everyone, just wondering if there is any way to get my baby to sleep longer then 10-20 mins at a time and that's if she goes to sleep at all during the day. My baby is 5 months old and I am at a loss, she will not self settle at all, I have to have her on me to go to sleep and make sure she is in a deep sleep before putting her down. Please do not tell me just to enjoy it as they are only little for a while, I know this and I love her to pieces, I don't mind at night with the cuddles but it is now to the point, I can't do my house work or leave the room without her screaming the house down. I am back at work thankfully only 2-3 days a week and I would rather stay there then come home to my house and screaming baby. I don't want to feel like this at all.. I have tried the little lamb rocker to see if that will help and it hasn't. PLEASE IM'S I need help

My son has just gone through something similar, it really affected me when he wanted a feed/cuddle every hour and a half to two hours over night. Can you rock your bub in the pram or wear him in a wrap or something similar? I found I could get the dishes and laundry done while he slept in the morning before he woke up. It is normal apparently for that age and it does get better. He has just started sleeping 5 hours straight again for the last 2 nights, I'm hoping to make it 3 for 3 tonight. I hope things settle down for you soon. My family all kept telling me the same thing "don't worry about the housework and enjoy the cuddles" but after 6 weeks of very broken sleep over night that advice was not helpful. Good luck

I had this with my first she would only go to sleep on me and would only sleep in short bursts. then I had and my second who self settled and was soooo much easier. So it might just be your baby, not you, you are doing great. I don't have much advice really except maybe your baby might have silent reflux (like my first).
